Where Chiniki First Nation is Located

The Chiniki First Nation is located 60 kilometres west of Calgary (on the Trans Canada Highway) along the Banff–Calgary corridor.

The people of Chiniki welcome visitors today as they have since the 1800's having earned the reputation of being hospitable to strangers who arrived in their camps.

As a welcomed visitor, you will experience an aire of "Hollywood" as Chiniki provided the set for many famous movies.

"Little Big Man" starring Dustin Hoffman was filmed on Chinki First Nation turf, as was "Legends of the Fall" starring Brad Pitt.

The latest movie filmed on the Chiniki First Nation was "Open Range" starring Kevin Costner.

There were many other movies shot and the Chiniki Restaurant proudly displays some memorabilia and autographed pictures from some of the big stars and celebrities.
